first grilled pizza attempt

so the other day we grilled some pizzas.

it's been hot out so we've been trying to figure out ways to eat without using the stove. we did end up using the stove since we had to make sauce, but at least we didn't have to crank up the oven as high as it goes which is what we usually do when we make pizza.

dough is made in the food processor using yeast/sugar/flour/salt/water/olive oil. sauce is a large can of crushed tomatoes/garlic/spices/red wine. you grill one side of the dough for two minutes and take off the grill to put on the toppings.

then you slide it back on the grill, and bake with the lid on for 8-10 more minutes.

we are in our backyard/parking lot and conveniently, some tenant probably years ago left this camper shell for us to use as a work station when we are grilling. the bbq itself is actually on a dirt patch about 20 feet away from the 580.

here is pizza #2 as it's coming of the grill. toppings for the pizza are arugula (from eatwell farm), bell peppers and crimini mushrooms. and uh, mozzarella cheese.

miri is totally into pizza.

i did take this adorable picture of miri and jeremy while the pizzas were cooking or the grill was getting hot or something like that. i love them both so much.
